Villa Uh Kaay, Sian Ka'an

Villa Uh Kaay is the answer for a group of twelve who want the emptiest coast south of Tulum without giving up service. The house sits inside the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve and comes with a private cook, a butler and daily housekeeping, so the seclusion is looked after rather than left to the guests to manage.

The architecture puts the jungle behind the house and opens the living rooms straight onto the coast. The outdoor programme is stacked in layers: an infinity pool at the centre of the grounds, a terrace lounge set for dinner under the stars, and a rooftop Jacuzzi that takes the sunset hour. The sand is reached directly from the grounds, and on this part of the reserve it stays close to empty.

Four bedrooms sleep the twelve. Two are ocean-view master suites; all four have their own bathrooms and are positioned so that nobody walks past anybody else’s door. It is a layout that suits two or three families travelling together, or a group of friends who want shared evenings and private mornings.

The cook works from a fully equipped kitchen, housekeeping resets the house every day, and the rest of the time is spent between the pool, the terrace and the water.
