Residencias Reef Cozumel is operated by Retreats Luxury Oceanfront Rentals, a villa rental company based in the Riviera Maya. We have been renting luxury properties along this coast since 2012, and today the company represents villas and chalets across the destinations we cover.
On this site, that means two things: beachfront condos at Residencias Reef in Cozumel, and private villas across the Riviera Maya — Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Soliman Bay, Akumal, Puerto Aventuras and the surrounding areas.
We rent villas. We don’t manage them.
This is a deliberate choice, and it shapes everything about how we work.
Property management is an operational business — staffing, maintenance, laundry, repairs. We stepped away from it so that we could focus entirely on the part that actually affects your trip: matching the right guest to the right property, and being straight with you about what each one is really like.
The owners retain control of their properties and their operations. We handle the booking, the trip planning, and the extras. It means our attention is on your stay, not on a maintenance schedule.
What that means for you
- Honest area advice. We will tell you when Tulum is the wrong choice for your group, or when a Cozumel condo makes more sense than a villa. We would rather place you correctly than place you quickly.
- Real availability. When we send you a shortlist, those properties are genuinely available for your dates.
- Direct booking. You deal with us — not a call centre, and not an anonymous listings platform.
- A local network. After more than a decade on this coast, we have long-standing contacts for the extras that make a trip work — private chefs, transfers, tours and experiences. We arrange them through people we actually know.
Where we are
We are based in the Riviera Maya. Not a head office in another country with a local phone number — we are on this coast, which is why we can tell you which bay has seagrass in April and which villa is genuinely a five-minute walk from the beach rather than a fifteen-minute one.
What we won’t do
We won’t invent reviews, inflate a villa’s description, or tell you a property is beachfront when it is beach-access. If a villa isn’t right for your group, we will say so. A booking that goes wrong helps nobody — least of all us, because this business runs on people coming back and telling their friends.
