Villa Azure Akumal at a glance
Built in 2014 and run as a green home, Villa Azure is a 7,000 sq ft beachfront villa in Akumal powered by solar panels, with rainwater collection, reverse-osmosis water filtration and a backup generator. It faces a living coral reef on the white sand, so snorkeling starts right at the beach, and the village’s shops, restaurants and bars are within walking distance.
Six ocean-facing bedrooms, each with its own balcony and marble bathroom, sleep up to 14. A full-time maid and a groundskeeper are on hand, and a chef can be booked for an extra charge.

Indoor Living
Downstairs is one open space: a big, fully equipped kitchen with a bar counter, and living and dining rooms that hold up to 25, with high-end speakers and an electric piano. Two mahogany tables seat the group inside and out on the patio. Bedrooms and living areas have air conditioning and ceiling fans, the doors and windows are soundproofed, and there is fiber-optic internet and satellite TV.
Outdoor Living
The tiled beachfront pool is long enough for laps, with built-in benches, and can be heated for a fee. The patio has a gas grill, seating in sun and shade, covered dining and a poolside palapa with a hammock, plus a hammock for each bedroom. Up on the roof, a refurbished terrace with covered dining offers 360-degree views, a bar, a bathroom, room for 25 and a telescope for the night sky. Snorkel gear, a kayak and a paddleboard are included.
Bedrooms
All six bedrooms look out to the ocean and have private balconies, full marble bathrooms, air conditioning, ceiling fans, 43-inch TVs and safes. Five have a king bed, two of them master suites, and the sixth has two queen beds, for a total of 14 guests.
