Those seeking a simple beach getaway will not be disappointed by Tulum. The pristine beaches offer all the sunshine you could ask for, so pack your sunscreen and a towel and prepare to lounge on the sand all day. The town center, though a little far from the beach, is worth an afternoon’s walk for the true local experience. 

Head to Beach Road South to find most of the town’s yoga studios, restaurants, and shops. The town is known for being eco-friendly, and you’ll find all the vegan food your heart desires in this part of town. Drop in for a yoga session at Maya Tulum or Yoga Dicha before grabbing some tacos and exploring the shops. 

Of course, a trip to Tulum wouldn’t be complete without exploring the town’s natural and historic wonders. The Ruins of Tulum are spectacularly preserved and worth a visit, though are often crowded with tourists. If you’re up for an adventure, take a diving tour through the Gran Cenote, an underground cave a little bit outside of town.
