Villa Sofia, Tankah Bay

Villa Sofia is the house for a group that changes size. The main villa holds five bedrooms, and a separate casita adds a sixth when the party grows, so the same booking works for a family of eight, a trip with friends, or a couple with room for company. Fourteen guests fit across the whole property.

It is one of the newest builds on Tankah Bay, an upscale beach villa set in tropical vegetation minutes from Tulum. The interior is new-construction: high ceilings, an open plan across the living area, dining space and a fully equipped kitchen, and expansive windows that pull in the light and the green around the house. Air-conditioning, Wi-Fi and daily housekeeping are standard.

Of the five main-house bedrooms, four have king beds and one has two singles. Each has a private bathroom. The casita has its own bedroom with a king bed, a double sofa bed and a kitchenette, which gives one couple or a pair of teenagers real separation from the main house.

Outside, an infinity pool and terrace sit in the vegetation with sun loungers and outdoor dining on the deck. The beach is steps away through private access.
