Among the palms on Jade Bay in Akumal, Casa Magica is a beach house with a rustic-tropical feel and a short walk along the sand to Akumal’s shops, restaurants and dive centres. Coral and tropical fish fill the bay’s sheltered water, turtles nest on the beach in summer, and the villa has something rare on this coast: a sandy way into the sea.
The stay includes a professional chef for up to three meals a day, plus an arrival dinner and departure breakfast; groceries and a US$25 daily shopping fee are extra. Housekeeping comes six days a week, and an overnight guard is on duty from 7 PM to 7 AM. The villa is priced for 10 guests and sleeps up to 12.

A two-storey domed brick ceiling rises over the open living, kitchen and dining space, warmed by earthy colours, wicker sofas, ceramics and potted palms. The wooden dining table seats eight. Central air conditioning, ceiling fans, smart TVs with Netflix, Bluetooth speakers and fast fiber-optic Wi-Fi are throughout, and every bedroom has a safe.
Outdoor Living
Beside the beach are an unheated pool, indoor and outdoor dining areas, a charcoal grill, hammocks and an outdoor shower. A double kayak and two paddleboards are there for the bay, and parking is private.
Bedrooms
Five bedrooms with private bathrooms, for up to 12: four kings and one room with two queens.
Main house: first-floor master with a king and ocean view; second-floor master with a king and ocean view; second-floor guest room with a king and ocean view; second-floor guest room with two queens facing the jungle.
Guesthouse: a separate king suite with its own full kitchen, sitting area, air conditioning and balcony.
