Hacienda 21 Tulum

Hacienda 21 is organised the old way, with suites arranged around a central courtyard and pool. It means twenty guests share one protected core rather than scattering along corridors, and that single decision does most of the hosting.

The format is naturally suited to retreats. Family reunions, team off-sites and wellness groups all run on the same geometry of private rooms and generous common ground.

Ten bedrooms with eleven and a half bathrooms keep full occupancy civil. Landscaped gardens, shaded terraces and an outdoor table extend the courtyard outward when the group spills past it.

The setting is the quieter town-and-jungle side of Tulum: residential streets, swimming caves and ruins within reach, restaurants minutes away, and the coast a straightforward drive.

The kitchen feeds the group until catering takes over, with housekeeping, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi and coordination running underneath.

For an organiser who wants the architecture to carry half the work, the courtyard is the argument.

The owners have since completed a programme of additions: a pickleball court, a sunken firepit lounge, a sauna with spa area, a rooftop lounge, a games room and a dedicated barbecue area. The present photography does not yet show every one of these; current images are available on request.
