Who we are
Residencias Reef Cozumel (residencias-reef-cozumel.com) is a booking brand operated by Retreats Luxury Oceanfront Rentals, a vacation-rental company based in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, renting private properties since 2012. Retreats Luxury Oceanfront Rentals is the data controller for the personal information collected through this website. We market and rent the properties shown here; the properties themselves are owned and managed by their own owners and teams.
What we collect, and why
Inquiry and contact forms
When you send an inquiry we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), travel dates, guest count, budget (optional), your message, and the property or page you inquired from. We use this solely to answer your inquiry, check availability, prepare your quote, and coordinate your stay.
Technical and marketing data
With each inquiry we also record the page you landed on, the page that referred you, campaign tags (UTM parameters) when you arrived from an ad or a link, a random form identifier used to prevent duplicate submissions, and your IP address (used for spam prevention and rate limiting).
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to understand how visitors use the site — pages visited, approximate location, device type. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally to us. Google may set cookies for this purpose; see Google’s own privacy policy for details.
Security services
This site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses to provide caching and to protect the site from attacks. Some forms may display Cloudflare Turnstile, an anti-bot check that processes limited browser data instead of asking you to solve puzzles.
Who your information is shared with
- The property’s own team — to confirm availability and, once you book, to prepare your stay. We share only what is needed for your reservation.
- Service providers — our email delivery provider (Brevo) transmits our notification and reply emails; Google provides analytics; Cloudflare provides security and delivery. Each processes data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.
- Nobody else. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
WhatsApp and email
If you choose to contact us through WhatsApp, your communication is processed by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own terms and privacy policy. Email replies travel through our email providers like any ordinary email.
How long we keep it
Inquiry records are kept for up to 24 months from submission — long enough to assist with a future stay or resolve a billing question — and are then automatically deleted. Booking and invoicing records connected to a completed stay may be kept longer where required for accounting and legal obligations.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific data-protection rights (such as the EU/EEA, UK, California, or under Mexico’s LFPDPPP), those rights apply to our handling of your data.
Cookies
This site uses a small number of cookies: analytics cookies set by Google, and technical cookies set by Cloudflare for security and performance. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of our own. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site keeps working without them.
